All that I am, that's worth a damn, is in these pages, if you know where to look, if you know how to find it.

-Human Rights Petition video I put together for AP gov

How can we demand less taxes, internet access, free healthcare, healthier food, or jobs when there is still a great number of people in the world who hardly even have the right to be human?

“Wow, that sucks.  I wish I could help but, I can’t right now.  It’s okay, I’m sure someone else will.”  - you.

People talk about losing their faith in humanity, but when that’s all you have left, you try so hard to hang on to it.  It’s like holding a rope over a cliff with something heavy hanging on the lower end.  The rope represents your own faith in humanity.  You decide to let go because you’re tired of holding on to something you’re not even sure is there.    Still hanging on the other end is a little boy.  Abandoned by his parents.  Abused by his owners.  And no longer able to sleep because his nightmares have now become his reality.

Your life is no less valuable than the worst-treated person in the world.  The only difference is they don’t know that.  …And what they don’t know, is killing them.

To Those That Don’t Consider ‘Raising Awareness’ As Something That Can Make A Difference
For 30 hours I didn’t eat a thing.  It was to ‘raise awareness’ about people suffering from hunger around the world.  Some people would argue that ‘raising awareness’ is ineffective.  I disagree, completely.  Throughout the entire 30 hours I got asked by about fifteen different people what I was doing and why I was doing it.  Mostly because they were worried I was trying to starve myself or something (haha) but, I was able to tell them all about world hunger out of their own curiosity for my actions.  What difference is fifteen people?  Well, that’s 15 more people that are aware that hunger is a huge issue in the world.  That’s 15 more souls that now have the choice to make a difference.  That’s 15 more mouths to spread the word.  That’s 15 more signs of hope for the hungry.  It’s all chance at that point and whether they do something or not-
-that’s 15 more than none.
